On the Diamond
Texas Tech softball swept Baylor in Waco and now are 23-7 overall and 5-1 in conference play. They’ll go to South Carolina to play the Gamecocks over spring break.
Texas Tech baseball swept Houston over the weekend, including a 4-1 win on Friday, a 13-8 win on Saturday, and an 11-1 win on Sunday. I simply didn’t have time to do a preview on Friday morning, but maybe that’s the key to this team winning games (me not doing a preview). They’ll play New Mexico on Tuesday on a one-off game and then host TCU for a weekend series. Highlights from yesterday haven’t posted, but these are from Saturday.
On the Track
Temitope Adeshina won the NCAA title in the high jump with a jump of 6-4.25, the second best in program history. Other results for the NCAA Indoor Championships were held over the weekend and at that link.
On the Court
The Lady Raiders (17-17) will play Wyoming (21-11) in Laramie in the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament on March 20th.
On the Gridiron
I do enjoy the sit-down with Joey McGuire, didn’t realize that they moved The Program up in the calendar, to the beginning of spring football rather than at the end. That’s probably a good idea to get the team to know each other when there are so many new players, including freshmen.
