Texas Tech softball fell to North Texas, 6-5 on a danged walk-off grand slam.
On the Court
Via the Bild’s Ralf Schmitt (this is a German newspaper) on Texas Tech guard Christian Anderson as he played for the U18 German National Team and NBA guard Dennis Schröder thinks that Anderson is the next great player for the German team:
Schröder played in the Bundesliga at the same age and draws a comparison. “At 18, he is further along than I was. There is really no comparison,” says the Braunschweig player. “The development he has made so far is special. And I believe that he will continue like this. He is very ambitious, likes to compete with others, and always wants to get better.”
Please note that there is a younger brother, Lucai Anderson who is currently playing at Trinity Christian in Lubbock (that’s a link to his Instagram) and is a 2027 player (currently a sophomore) and do you know who else plays at Trinity Christian? Jett McCasland, son of Grant.

CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd writes about the flopping or fake injury issue that happens late in games, with the AFCA wanting to do something to curb those flops:
The SEC has stepped up and will penalize coaches found guilty with a public reprimand and fine — even a suspension, if necessary. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey sent out a memo to league members calling for an end to the “nonsense.” But that’s one conference in a broad, complicated space.
The American Football Coaches Association has formally proposed the most detailed solution yet. If there is a medical stoppage, the player in question would have to miss the rest of the series. If the player is then cleared medically, a team could use a timeout to get that player back on the field. There would be exceptions for players with helmet communications — quarterbacks, linebackers — to get back in after one play.
