1. Stats. I don’t know how TCU is this bad offensively. It’s largely shooting and free throws (this seems simplistic), as TCU is 232rd in 3-point shooting, 265th in 2-point shooting, and 349th in free throw percentage. It doesn’t help that TCU isn’t great at peripherals either, 190th in turnover percentage, 123rd in offensive rebounding, and 141st in free throw rate. The defense is outstanding, 23rd overall, and they are great at guarding the 3-point line, 45th, but not great inside, 265th. They don’t put teams on the line, 62nd overall, and 59th in forcing turnovers.
2. Scouting. We were here not long ago and Reynolds is a good shooter and good distributor. Udeh is the cog that makes the offense roll at all, shoots 59% from the field, shots a ton of free throws, has a lot of blocks and steals and is all over the boards on both ends. Wenzel is a decent shooter, 35% from deep and that’s your best shooter. Allette is the best passer. My guess is that as Udeh Goes, so goes the Horned Frogs.
3. How They Match Up. How well will the Texas Tech offense travel because if it can travel, then I don’t know how TCU keeps pace. At some point the Texas Tech offense will stall a bit and it wouldn’t surprise me if it was on the road. The match-up of the game will be Toppin vs. Udeh, Udeh is such a load I think that Toppin has had issues previously, Federiko could play an important part of this game.

5. Official Site. The official site has their preview right here:
No. 9 Texas Tech continues a two-game road trip having won nine of their last 10 games and is now looking to sweep the regular-season matchup against TCU when they travel to Fort Worth for a 7 p.m. game on Tuesday at the Schollmaier Arena. Tech, with a 6-1 road record, is back in the AP Top 10 for the first time since 2022 and also saw the Division I Men’s Basketball Committee select them No. 13 nationally during the Bracket Preview Show. “This team is believing in each other and playing extremely hard,” Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland said.
Tech (20-5, 11-3 Big 12) earned a 71-57 win over TCU (14-11, 7-7 Big 12) back on January 29 in Lubbock. JT Toppin, who is averaging 31.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and shooting 63.3 percent from the field in the past three games, was named the Big 12 Player of the Week and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Monday. He led the Red Raiders with 16 points and 14 rebounds in the first win over the Horned Frogs while Chance McMillian had 16 points and Elijah Hawkins provided 13 points and five assists. Toppin has led Tech in scoring 11 times this season after a career-high 41 points and 15 rebounds in the double-overtime win over Arizona State and then going for 32 points at Oklahoma State. A sophomore from Dallas, he’s also led the team in rebounding 15 times with 12 rebounds in the 93-55 win at OSU on Saturday for his 10th double-double of the season.
