This is a big hoops weekend in Lubbock, the Lady Raiders will host No. 11 TCU at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and the men will host No. 3 Iowa State at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. I’ll have a full preview of the men’s game tomorrow morning.

On the Gridiron

Yesterday, news broke that Georgia QB Carson Beck was entering the transfer portal and was considering Miami (the favorite), Ohio State and Texas Tech. Zach Barnett works for Football Scoop and almost immediately quote-tweeted this report with a note that he’d be surprised that Ohio State and Texas Tech would be seriously interested. This was then reposted by James Blanchard, who is in charge of player acquisition for Texas Tech. Regardless, this started the content mill for Texas Tech aggregators (I’m an aggregator as well, but I’m often not good at my job because I can’t just jump on a story to get out a post) to create stories, posts, and videos to discuss this possibility when it is likely not really a probable scenario and maybe Texas Tech was included largely because they’ve been a slot machine for transfers recently. I sometimes can’t stand the content mill because it’s just for clicks and there’s very little thought in the process, just getting something up as quickly as possible. I know that’s largely the point, but would ask that you all look at all of the facts and realize that you don’t have to feed on the content mill.
