Texas Tech football continues their process of adding players through the transfer portal. Yesterday, two players were added:
+ CB Brice Pollock (6-1/190): From Mississippi State, Pollock had 48 tackles in 2024, 7 passes broken up and 1 interception in 2024, while he had 24 tackles and 1 pass defended in 2023. The connection is that Darcel McBath coached Pollock and of course McBath is now on Texas Tech’s staff as an analyst.
+ WR Reggie Vigil (6-4/190): From Miami (Ohio), Virgil caught 41 passes for 816 yards and 9 touchdowns. That’s going to be a pretty big combination to go alongside Caleb Douglas and Coy Eakin.
Via ESPN:
Scout’s take: Virgil is a big, athletic target with great hands. He’s a vertical threat who knows how to use his length to climb the ladder and make the difficult grab. Virgil was an impressive long jumper out of high school who went over 22 feet. He’s a vertical stretcher as well, with a long stride to accelerate past coverage. — Tucker
Via The Athletic:
Reggie Virgil, Miami (Ohio), WR: He only has one year of eligibility remaining, but Virgil has become one of the hottest commodities in the portal with offers already from Oklahoma, UTSA, Texas Tech, Pitt, Florida, Michigan State, Florida State, Miami, UCF, Illinois, Georgia Tech, West Virginia and Arkansas. He caught 41 passes for 816 yards and nine touchdowns this season, averaging 19.9 yards per catch.
Texas Tech got a big pickup tonight in former Miami(OH) WR Reggie Virgil @Therealreggie11
I have been watching him all season, and the dude is a 6’4 vertical threat who compiled 5 catches of 50+ yards this season. Here are all 5 of them.#TransferPortal #WreckEm pic.twitter.com/5CIRCBbkix
