Texas Tech Football Notebook: North Texas Presser

Hello. I made it. All 50k and finished in about 6:45, which was longer than expected, but i finished. I have not watched anything and it sounds like I did not miss anything. When I finished the race we had a 3 hour drive home and, grabbed a burger, ate and I went to sleep around 7:30. I actually slept for over 8 hours, which is an incredibly rare thing for me, to get anything over 6 hours. I woke up to a lopsided score and had no interest in delving into the why’s and how’s of how the game fell off the tracks. That morning we went to a park in Tacoma and saw a pod of orcas, which is apparently very rare occurrence (my brother has not seen any in 5 years of living there) and just hung out and played with his kids, 2 and 4, since I never get to see them. I also have real sore legs, they haven’t been this sore in ages. I basically had 6 weeks to train after hurting my back and being able to run zero miles for 2 weeks as I ramped up to walking. But I completed the mission and it was absolutely painful as hell to cross that finish line.

I should tell you that I took as a sign in seeing the orcas that this is a sign of luck, so maybe the football gods are now on our side.

From what I can tell, it was 7 offensive turnovers (4 on downs) and an offense that couldn’t get rolling for whatever reason. The defense was fine given everything but could not hold back the leaky dam any longer. Micah Husdon did not really play again and I am not ready to declare that he will transfer but I do think it would be good to get him snaps.

That is all I have to write about that game. I understand that people are upset, that’s what happens when Texas Tech loses any game, this blog wouldn’t exist without both happy and upset people.

Youssouf had his first football game against Lancaster last night, he scored 2 touchdowns, 2 extra-point conversions, and had an interception (maybe 2 forced fumbles as well). If you are so inclined to watch, the reverse of field at 2:51:15 was fun as was the run at 2:52:30 and the ensuing extra point conversion won the game.

I didn’t have time to watch any of the presser, I’m watching it as I type this morning. I did copy the Availability Report and Vinny Sciury is out for the year, which is bad for an offensive line that maybe wasn’t very good against Washington State.
