On the Gridiron
Head coach Joey McGuire spoke to the the official site and was only a minute and a half so not a lot of content. Standouts from the day were Ansel Nedore (a redshirt freshman outside linebacker), Harvey Dyson, AJ McCarty, Brenden Jordan on defense and Josh Kelly, Caleb Douglas and Tahj Brooks on offense. Also some highlights.
I’ve got a handful of links from Tuesday when the players met with the media.

On the Court
Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Nathan Giese talked to head coach Krista Gerlich and the recruiting pitch that she’s done on the best player in the country, Monterey’s Aaliyah Chavez (Gerlich did not speak of Chavez directly because she cannot).
“We want to keep them here so that we can fill that arena,” Gerlich said. “And let’s be honest, those kids grew up watching Lady Raider basketball and wanted to be a Lady Raider and we needed this program to be in a position that they could come in and still want to be part of a winning program.”
NCAA Things
Yahoo’s Ross Dellinger has a good breakdown of the proposed settlement, which by this time may have changed, but this at least is a guide if you are at all interested in what the NCAA will look like moving forward.
