ESPN’s Transfer Portal Winners and Losers: Baylor Bears: The Bears already had a high-level recruiting class coming in, but then Scott Drew picked up pledges from double-double machine and All-ACC selection Norchad Omier (Miami) as well as Jeremy Roach (Duke), perhaps the best point guard in the portal. Jalen Celestine (California) adds depth.
Don’t look now, but Edgecombe is going to be a problem for the Big 12. Yet another terrific freshman guard who can score and will likely be a one-and-done player for the Bears. And I don’t even know if I should be leading off with Edgecombe, but from all accounts he’s going to be special based on his Olympic team performance. Omier from Miami is going to replace a lot of the scoring that Baylor lost and Roach is likely to be a truly significant player for Baylor.
