We’re up to round 2.0 of Bracket Watch.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has moved Texas Tech from a 7th seed to a 6th seed to face Oregon in the Spokane bracket in the Midwest. The other two teams in that Spokane bracket are Creighton and Morehead State.
CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm continues to have Texas Tech as a 5 seed but now have them in the South Region in the Brooklyn bracket to face off against James Madison with Duke and Samford as the other tw oteams. Previously he had Texas Tech in the East Region.
T-Rank’s T-Ranketology has Texas Tech as a 6 seed (this isn’t by region) and the other 6 seeds are Saint Mary’s, South Carolina, and New Mexico. If you are curious, previously T-Rank had Texas as a 5 seed along with Texas Tech and now Texas is an 8 seed. TourneyCast (TM) that predicts the T-Ranketology based on 10,000 simulations and says that Texas Tech is an average 6th seed and based on these projections is 100% going to make the tournament and also has a 0.4% chance to win the National Championship. Last time I did this, Houston was the leader in the clubhouse, but Connecticut and Purdue have jumped in front of them. This is all computer model based without emotion or a committee ranking them.
BracketMatrix has Texas Tech as an average 5th seed.
Blogging The Bracket has Texas Tech has a 5 seed, in that Brooklyn region against James Madison.
I won’t be around for Selection Sunday most likely, however, The 2024 Men’s Basketball Championship Selection Show starts today at 5:00 p.m. CT on CBS.
