THE BATS HAVE BEEN HOT
Over the seven-game winning streak the Red Raiders are hitting .420 with 18 home runs and 35 doubles. Tech leads the country in runs scored (163), doubles (48) and on-base percentage (.488). The Red Raiders are third in the country in both batting average (.364) and hits (162) and fourth in slugging percentage (.631). The Red Raiders lead the Big 12 in all of those marks. The Red Raiders are also eighth in the country in walks (94) and are 33rd int he country in home runs. Only Texas (22) has slugged more homers than the Red Raiders 21.

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT
The Red Raiders freshman class was highly acclaimed coming into the season and through the first 12 games of the season they certainly look the part. At the plate three different freshman (Pompey, Rivers and Sanders) have combined to go 30-of-79 (.380) with three home runs, 10 doubles and 31 RBIs. TJ Pompey has done the lions share of the damage as the Coppell product is hitting .392 with two home runs and 19 RBIs. On the mound, the freshman have thrown 22.2 innings, allowing just four runs (1.62 ERA). That group includes Chandler Coe, Mac Heuer, Parker HutyraCole Kaase and Brady Trombello and has struck out 18 batters with just two walks. Pompey enters the weekend riding a 12-game hit streak.
