1. Stats. Kind of funny how KenPom and T-Rank are a bit different in terms of how they see these two teams, pretty darn similar overall, but TCU is a very good offensive team, the strengths being offensive rebounding at 20th in the nation and shooting inside the arc, 31st in the nation. The Horned Frogs are the top third in getting to the line and are a top half 3-point shooting team, 148th. Defensively, they are 31st in turning teams over and a lot like Oklahoma, are terrific at guarding the 3-point line, 41st in the nation.
2. Scouting. If we are looking at losses, TCU turned the ball over too much against Cincy and Iowa State, hardly got to the line against the Bearcats. On the defensive side of things, they didn’t force turnovers. As far as players, Miller returns for his 10th year (that’s a joke, but he has been there a long time), not great at any offensive category, but he can score and doesn’t turn the ball over. Peavy is a senior now, has turned into a terrific mid-range shooter. O’Bannon is the team’s best shooter, while Tennyson is the best shooter from deep. You don’t get to rebounders and shot blockers until you look at Udeh and Mostafa.
3. How They Match Up. These are really similar teams, really good on offense and decently good on defense. TCU is coming off of a triple-overtime game on the road against Baylor and Texas Tech is busy just playing five players for the entire game. Texas Tech has morphed into a very good 3-point shooting team and as mentioned TCU is good at guarding it. TCU doesn’t take a ton of 3-point shots so you might get an advantage there.

5. Official Site. The official site has their preview right here:
Winners of 11 of their last 12, the No. 15 Red Raiders travel to play No. 25 TCU at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in Fort Worth after a weekend that saw the Red Raiders earn an 85-84 win at Oklahoma (then No. 11, now No. 23) and the Horned Frogs take a 105-102 triple-overtime victory over Baylor (then No. 15, now No. 18) in Waco.
The Red Raiders (16-3) are atop the Big 12 standings with a 5-1 record in conference play coming into the game at Schollmaier Arena and are currently 2-1 in Big 12 road games with wins at Texas and OU on their resume, and 3-1 against ranked opponents with a win over BYU added in there. TCU (15-5, 4-3 Big 12) is 9-1 on its home court this season, including Big 12 wins over Oklahoma and Houston. This will be the first of two matchups between the two teams with the Horned Frogs coming to Lubbock on Tuesday, February 20. Tech is currently 1-0 this season in Fort Worth after a 76-54 non-conference win over Vanderbilt back on December 16 at Dickies Arena.
