1. Stats. Oklahoma is a very good offensive team largely because they are a good 2-point shooting team, 19th in nation, and 40th in the nation in free throw percentage. They are decent shooting outside, 153rd in the nation. The one area where they have issues is turnovers, 241st in the nation and they also have a tendency to have their shots blocked, 275th overall. The defense is better, elite at guarding the 3-point line at 13th in the nation and 56th in the nation in defending 2-point shots. The Sooners also will limit offensive boards.
2. Scouting. McCollum is fantastic and plays most of the minutes on the team. High assist guy, but also a terrific mid-range shooter and near automatic at the free throw line. Moore probably does the most “stuff” in that he’s a very good shooter, 59% on 2-point shots and a terrific offensive and defensive rebounder. He takes most of the 3-point shots, he has 110 attempts on the season. Godwin and Hughley are additional really good shooters and offensive rebounders. Uzan is your assist guy, but not high usage so he’s distributing the ball without needing to dominate the ball.
3. How They Match Up. Oklahoma lost 2 games earlier in the year to TCU and Kansas and the main reason for the loss was that they did not force any turnovers, the loss against Texas they simply shot poorly and allowed the Longhorns to shoot well. Good news is that Texas Tech doesn’t guard the 3-point shot and that’s not a strength of Oklahoma. Texas Tech and Oklahoma are similar in opposite strengths, i.e. the Red Raiders are an excellent offensive team and Oklahoma is the same defensively, while Texas Tech is good at defense and the same for the Sooners on offense. Texas Tech doesn’t put teams on the line, 6th in the nation, and OU is 144th in the nation.

5. Official Site. The official site has their preview right here:
No. 20 Texas Tech has won 10 of its last 11 games and returns to action this weekend against No. 11 Oklahoma at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Norman, Oklahoma. The 75th matchup in the all-time series will be the only regular-season matchup between Tech and OU in the newly configured Big 12 scheduling matrix and comes with the Red Raiders having won nine of the last 12 meetings in the series and three of the last five inside the Lloyd Noble Center.
The Red Raiders (15-3, 4-1 Big 12) split a pair of conference games against ranked opponents last week, earning an 85-78 home win over BYU after falling at Houston and have now matched the best start to a season for the program through 18 games since also being 15-3 overall and 4-1 in Big 12 play in the 2018-19 season. The Sooners (15-4, 3-3 Big 12) are coming off a 75-60 loss to Texas in the Lloyd Noble Center on Tuesday night to begin their two-game home stand. The loss to the Longhorns snapped a two-game winning streak that included wins over West Virginia and Cincinnati along with moving the Sooners to 11-1 on their home court.
