Someone asked me the other day who Texas Tech might be focusing on for the 2025 basketball class. The one thing that has happened is that Grant McCasland and his staff are incredibly stealth when it comes to recruiting and commits tend to come from out of thin air. However, I do think that McCasland & Kellen Buffington is recruiting 3 players with some gusto.
* PG Kingston Flemings (6-3/165) from Brennan High School in San Antonio.
* SF Shelton Henderson (6-6/220) from Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas.
* Jaden Toombs (6-9/245) from Dynamic Prep in Dallas, Texas.
Yesterday morning I flubbed and wrote “Micah Parsons” rather than Micah Hudson. Bygones. Inside The Red Raiders’ Jarret Johnson with the updated list for 24/7 Sports and WR Micah Hudson finished 25th overall in the nation (he was 10th with Rivals) with OT Ellis Davis at 190th, QB Will Hammond at 224th, and DE Cheta Ofili at 234th.
Red Raider Sports’ Ben Golan on the latest commit for the 2025 class in safety Michael Henderson, III (5-9/185) from East in Wylie, Texas. Henderson is the 9th commit of this class and Henderson played both safety and running back for Dub East.
Red Raider Sports’ Justin Apodaca has five things he’s looking to this spring camp and my biggest issues will be the offensive lines and edge rushers. Here’s Apodaca on the receiver room:
The revamped receiver room
This seems to be the headliner with three extremely exciting wide receivers headed to Lubbock, whether that be Tech’s blue-chip freshman or the two power-five transfers.
Micah Hudson is on campus and every Texas Tech fan should be excited to get their first look at the No. 9 player in the Rivals rankings in a Red Raider uniform.
While Hudson is likely to be the headliner for most, Washington State transfer Josh Kelly is someone that Red Raider fans should have on their monitor ahead of Kelly’s final season of collegiate eligibility after a strong career at Fresno State and an excellent year with Washington State.
Kelly and Hudson will be joined by Florida transfer receiver Caleb Douglas who showed some extreme promise with the Gators. Coy Eakin and Drae McCray will be the familiar faces that help welcome these receivers to campus.
Texas Tech baseball is ranked No. 21 by D1 Baseball in their preseason poll to start the season with TCU at No. 5, Texas at No. 16, and Kansas State at No. 24. If you want to get to know the team, the baseball tailgate dinner is February 2nd at Cagle Steaks & BBQ.
