Ludvig Aberg won his second consecutive Ben Hogan Award, which is awarded to the top men’s college golfer. This is essentially like winning the Heisman and Aberg is now clearly one of the best athletes to grace the halls of Texas Tech.

Athlon Sports came out with their preseason All-Big 12 teams. Texas Tech had no players make the 1st team on offense while Jaylon Hutchings was the only player on the 1st team defense. Tahj Brooks and Jerand Bradley made the 2nd team offense and Malik Dunlap made the 2nd team defense and Austin McNamara was also the 2nd team punter. Tony Bradford made the 3rd team defense and that was it despite there being a fourth team. Of course, there’s a lot more players to choose from with 14 teams, so I sort of get the idea that Texas Tech cannot be littered with players. Would have thought there would be at least one offensive lineman, maybe Dennis Wilburn, make the cut.
