Hey, hey, hey! Texas Tech got the win on Sunday 10-5 after splitting Friday and Saturday, earning the series win. The Friday night game was wild and the Sunday game was marred by two TCU ejections, head coach Kirk Saarloos and third baseman Brayden Taylor. Texas Tech amassed 15 hits to knock in those 10 runs, while TCU only managed 5 hits for the game. Texas Tech will host Abilene Christian on Tuesday and then host North Dakota State for the weekend series, which is Thursday through Saturday due to the Easter holiday. As always, Red Raider Dugout has more updates than you know what to do with.

Softball won the first conference series win for Craig Snider with a 7-5 win over Iowa State. The ladies will have to travel to Norman this weekend, which is an incredibly tall task.

Today Texas Tech will announce new head coach Grant McCasland at a press conference at 4:00 p.m. today at the United Supermarkets Arena.

I’ve thought a lot about the McCasland hire and I am definitely on board. I think the biggest negative is the idea that McCasland may leave for another position, like Baylor, but I am a long ways away from that and I think that it might be smart to think that I hope that McCasland is here for a long time, that he wins a lot of games, and if he leaves, then we wish him the best. I never understood the fans that swore that Beard would never leave so maybe, the idea is to just never say never.

The Athletic’s Brian Hamilton ($) has a bit on the hire, notably is the idea that the rumor is that McCasland may be targeting Northwest Missouri State’s head coach Ben McCollum as the offensive coordinator, which would be an absolute coup.
