Do you wish someone a happy Ides of March or just advise that it is today?

I am fortunate to be able to take a day off, which I did yesterday in order to take the dogs to the vet, which that’s too much for my wife by herself and the boys, and then I spent the day making trips to storage, and then doing a ton of yardwork before the rain arrives on Thursday. I’m now exhausted, but at least the work is done. Weekends had been full of Yoyo and Fits activities where there was no time to do anything.

I don’t know that I’ll get to post on Thursday, so the lede for this Morning Stake is that the Lady Raiders will host the UTEP Miners on Thursday night as part of the WNIT. You can purchase tickets at the link.

Jeff Goodman tweeted a few candidates for the Texas Tech men’s coaching position and I think these are names we already knew.

Couple names that are in the mix for the Texas Tech opening, source told @Stadium.

The Andy Kennedy (currently at UAB) name isn’t one that excites me, he didn’t do great at Mississippi which was probably his dream job. As Goodman notes, there are others and it was always my theory that Beard sent him information, he’s probably not as plugged in as others, maybe like Fran Fraschilla who I do think is plugged in but doesn’t need the attention.

Texas Tech announced a significant gift from Travis and Lexi Thompson as part of the south end zone and the Dustin R. Womble Football Center. Awesome!

Don’t look now, but softball is 22-7, beat No. 25 Texas State in a double-header yesterday, 4-3 and 3-2, and baseball (15-3) continues to rake, easily handling UT-Arlington 10-1.
