There was a ton of angst about the Big 12 football schedule not being released and that long national nightmare is over because the schedule was released yesterday. With the expanded Big 12, currently with 14 with Oklahoma and Texas still part of the conference, there are four teams that every Big 12 team won’t play. That may be the most interesting tidbit, so for Texas Tech?
2023 Texas Tech Schedule
There are no consecutive road games which is a win I think. A bit surprised not to have either Oklahoma program on the schedule, but that will change significantly after OU and UT leave and there’s probably going to be a round-robin sort of rotation. I also like the idea of traveling to Provo to play BYU and then having the next week off to host TCU. I also like the idea of an off week about 2/3’s of the way through the schedule. We will get to see Donovan Smith as Houston comes to town at the end of September. I’m also not about to do much of a prediction other than I think we’ll win ’em all, but I have no idea who the quarterbacks or coordinators or returning players or transfer portal type of players. There’s just too much unknowns for me to make a real guess.
