Texas Tech made a late add to the 2023 class in Rockwall receiver Aiden Meeks.
I wanna thank every coach and program who recruited me, I am truly humbled! I’m excited to announce that I am officially committed to Texas Tech @TexasTechFB @JoeyMcGuireTTU @TTU_EJones @ZKittley @rockwalljfndfb @RISDAthletics @CoachColvin7 @CoachBrooks22 #WreckEm pic.twitter.com/3G83xh3IWc

I don’t have a ton of info about the how or why, but Aiden Meeks was originally committed to UNLV on December 15th, then decommitted 5 days later, and then committed to Texas Tech on December 31st. Meeks caught 39 passes for 665 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior and 47 receptions for 839 yards and 7 touchdowns as a senior. Meeks is the son of former Red Raider footballer Vincent Meeks, a safety back in the days of upsetting Aaron Rogers and California in the Holiday Bowl.
One of the biggest reasons that Meeks was given an offer was because he ran a 4.39 40-yard dash at a camp over the summer AND I think this fills a need in that Texas Tech didn’t really recruit any inside receivers and Meeks probably fills that role for Texas Tech in the future. According to this interview with Matt Clare, Meeks will arrive for the spring semester.
