I’m not exactly sure as to the count, but Woodville defensive tackle Braylon Rigsby becomes the latest member of the 2023 class.
I want to thank everyone who got me to where I am today. After a great deal of time and talking it out with family and coaches I have decided to taking my talents to TEXAS TECH🔴⚫️#WreckEm @JoeyMcGuireTTU @jkbtjc_53 @CoachZFitch @CoachEnnisTTU @CoachRob4Realz @CoachTegeler pic.twitter.com/s9zN9ymAAi

Red Raider Sports’ Ben Golan talked to Rigsby when he was offered by Texas Tech:
Texas Tech coaches: “With coach (James) Blanchard he’s believed in me from the beginning, he was one of the first people to ever hit me up. Even before my first offer, he was one of the very first. It was like kinda crazy seeing Texas Tech be the first ever to text me.
He’s been with me the whole process with Tech. He’s believed in me, he says I’m like the most underrated ever. So I’m glad I got the offer.
Coach Fitch, I met him yesterday. He seems like a cool dude, he’s a big happy guy. He gets straight to the point, get the job done and have fun later. He has fun at the same time… I can’t really explain it. He’s just a big happy dude who loves coaching.”
Please note (you’ll have to click the link to read) that when asked about what the coaches liked about him, Rigsby mentioned his arm-length and his frame, again, an indication that the staff has metrics that they look for when recruiting.
Not going to lie, I love the “Big Dog Status, Woof, Woof” to identify Rigsby in his highlight video. Big and powerful and those long arms will come in handy when he’s fighting off offensive linemen and keeping them at bay. Rigsby obviously displays enough strength to be powerful at the high school level, he’s a people mover and relatively quick off the ball. There are times he’s going against much smaller competition, but that’s not his fault (although it is something to keep in mind).
I also realize that I need to update some things with the decommitment of running back LJ Martin, who is now committed to Stanford. With the long weekend coming up and no sports, I’ll definitely be able to get to those things.
