Texas Tech announced that they would be playing LSU in the SEC/Big 12 challenge on January 28th at the Maravich Center. Just to keep up, LSU let Will Wade go this past offseason and hired Matt McMahon who was the head coach at Murray State prior to his arrival at Baton Rouge. Wade was fired because of allegations of recruiting violations and McMahon sort of had to start over in terms of a roster (which a lot of teams do now with the transfer portal). As the linked press release mentions, Texas Tech will also play Georgetown as part of the Big 12/Big East Battle on November 30th in Lubbock.
I had a couple of things incorrect the last time I did this, which was earlier this week when Kerwin Walton announced that he would transfer from North Carolina to Texas Tech. I had forgotten to add Malik Ondigo as a walk-on and I originally had Kevin McCullar going to the NBA and he’s going to Kansas. I think the next time you see this, I’ll take out all of the players who are no longer on the team so it’s a bit cleaner of who the are players moving forward. And I hope that NOW I’ve got everything correct as we turn the page.
