Red Raider Sports’ Ben Golan spoke to Jackson about his commitment, which was essentially sight unseen and largely based on the relationship with Al Pinkins:
“I was with coach Al Pinkins when he was at Florida. I was with him at first and he switched over from Florida to Texas Tech, and I was just following him because I know him so well. I’ll be able to ask him for help when I’m on campus or when I need anything.
I felt like Texas Tech would be a good fit. It’ll be a good playstyle for me.”
The video is definitely great. It’s just dunk after dunk after dunk for the most part with a couple of drives mixed in there as well. Elevation is obviously elite, we get a couple of shots and the form looks nice, but my guess is that it might need some work like all true freshmen. I’d also add that with Drew Steffe’s highlight package, shooting is a main element and most of the time, players highlight the things they do really well. It doesn’t mean that they don’t do the other things well, but you get the idea. With that ability to jump and drive and get to the rim at the high school level, going to the rack is where I’d go too. Jackson also has nice vision and seems things happening down the court really well and passes in traffic really well.
