Texas Tech won the first of a two-game set against SFA 19-1 on Tuesday, which included home runs by Easton Murrell, Jace Jung, Ty Coleman, and Kurt Wilson. Andrew Devine earned the win by going 4 innings. Texas Tech won the second game 13-5, which included home runs by Cody Master, Kurt Wilson, and Parker Kelly. Austin Becker earned the win with 4 innings of work. Yesterday, that Cody Masters home run was a grand slam and he returned after a serious bout with meningitis just 6 weeks ago. Texas Tech will hold their pro day this morning and will include 13 participants:
This will be the second opportunity for three of Texas Tech’s participants to impress potential pro franchises as offensive lineman Dawson Deaton, wide receiver Erik Ezukanma and defensive back DaMarcus Fields were all invited to the NFL Combine last month. The week-long trip to Indianapolis included many of the same drills and tests as Pro Day on Thursday but also included individual meetings with various NFL scouts and coaches.
Texas Tech also expects 10 other attendees Thursday in offensive lineman Josh Burger, place kicker Jonathan Garibay, wide receiver Kaylon Geiger Sr., linebacker Riko Jeffers, tight end Travis Koontz, wide receiver McLane Mannix, defensive back Eric Monroe, linebacker Jacob Morgenstern, linebacker Colin Schooler and offensive lineman T.J. Storment.
