Texas Tech Basketball

Over the weekend, Terrence Shannon, Jr. announced he would enter the transfer portal and Kevin McCullar declares for the NBA Draft while maintaining the ability to return to the team for a final year.

Texas Tech Baseball

If you know who Jomboy is, he’s an internet guy and he breaks down baseball plays. There was an important play on Friday that he breaks down.

The Texas series thread was fully updated after yesterday’s 12-1 loss to Texas. Taking the series against the #2 team in the nation is a good thing despite the run-ruled loss yesterday. Up next is a mid-week 2-game series with Stephen F. Austin starting Tuesday and then heading off to Lawrence to take on Kansas over the weekend.

Texas Tech Football

There have been a couple of mic’d up videos, including head coach Joey McGuire, running back coach Kenny Perry, and then an introduction and demonstration of the football group as well as stuff from practice.

This is Texas Tech 2023 quarterback commit Jake Strong and a nice summary of his camp this weekend.

Announced on Twitter, Louisiana-Monroe defensive tackle Myles Cole (6-6/295) would transfer to Texas Tech with two years available.

Last year for the Warhawks, Cole had 28 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss, half of a sack, and 2 quarterback hurries as a sophomore. I looked very briefly on his Twitter and Cole had recently visited TCU and then Texas Tech this past weekend.

RedRaiderSports’ Ben Golan talked to Cole about his commitment:

Cole chose Texas Tech over offers from UNLV, Northwestern State, Incarnate Word, Prairie View A&M, UAB, Western Kentucky, Buffalo, TCU and North Texas. He says it was the coaches and the academics that helped him with his decision.

“Basically everything (stood out). Texas Tech checked all the boxes, even the small little details they made sure it was done right. Mainly it was the chemistry of the coaching staff and also the academics that really made a huge impact for me.”
