Martin was a former TCU commitment RedRaiderSports’ Ben Golan spoke to Martin about his commitment:
“The different type of culture they have on campus. Instead of being an outside I felt like I was a part of the team already. They treated me like family.”
Now that he’s signed and a future Red Raider, Martin says Tech fans should expect him to give everything he’s got.
“They should expect everything I got. I’m trying to come in hard, I’m trying to catch up. Coming in as a freshman, I’m trying to get and reach the people above me, the seniors and upperclassmen. So I plan to come in, work hard and be the best I can be.”
There’s more there and you can also check out Golan talking to Martin’s high school coach who has nothing but high praise for Martin.
Martin is physically stronger than whoever was up against him. Just significantly bigger. I don’t know what district Everman is in, but the opposing defensive line was tiny in comparison, or Martin is a giant. Both of those things cold be true. Martin is punishing at the point of attack, and you sort of lose the physicality and the ability to finish plays. He’ll learn technique, but Everman has always had a good football program and big strong kids from a good program that play hard is usually a really good thing. Add in the physical attributes and that’s a pretty good combination.
