24/7 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong talked to Kana about his commitment:
“I loved everything they had to offer and I believe that Coach McGuire has a strong defensive philosophy and it’s everything scheme wise that I would want to play for,” Kana explained. “The campus was beautiful and I’m looking to take an engineering major so that aspect of the school was also a perfect fit.”
Kana was originally committed to USC but since they’ve undergone some coaching changes, Kana de-committed and now Texas Tech has picked him up for a commitment.
There’s a lot to like. Kana is strong, diagnoses the play really well, and incredibly violent when Kana hits an opposing player. Texas Tech has added 5 players to their 2021 class, at least 4 of them are on defense and if there was ever a question about McGuire’s philosophy or thoughts where the roster needed improvement, then I think you have your answer. Back to kana, he’s a big player that can pretty well take down any offensive player. He looks really smooth on coverage. He works hard to make the tackle and does a good job of going from sideline to sideline. Another terrific addition.
