Football
-
- Final points from Texas Tech v SFA
- Offense
- Boom or Bust
- All scoring drives included explosive play
- 75 yard TD pass to EZ
- 67 yard TD run by Brooks
- 55 yard rec set up X White TD run
- 52 yard rush set up short TD
- All scoring drives included explosive play
- Shough was only 12-22; lowest completions and attempts in several years
- Have to find other WRs
- EZ accounts for 80% of Shough’s passing yards
- Shough went 6-16 for 31 yds to receivers not named EZ (5.1 yds/catch)
- EZ averages 25 yards per catch!
- Tight ends weren’t even targeted
- Boom or Bust
- Defense
- Wasnt as bad as initially thought
- Only allowed 32 rush yards on 29 attempts; 1.1 ypc
- Only TD came after the gosh-awful strip/sack/loss for a million yards while trying to get off a play before the end of the 3rd quarter
Sidenote/train of thought notes: why was the offense on the field? Tech was up 21-13, it was 4th and 3 on the SFA 35. Fumble tumble all the way back to TTU 26 (39 yd loss). Not enough time to let clock run out without delay of game? Use timeout? All day Garibay 52 yard attempt doesn’t seem like a fun choice either, so okay with going for it, but seemed rushed.
- Wasnt as bad as initially thought
- Penalties
- 6 for 70 yards
- 2 unsportsmanlike (EZ and LT Storment? – never saw that replay – Wells was displeased)
- Ill-timed and probably accidental facemask on Hutchings on 2nd and 30 (made up with huge plays after that)
- Score predictions 28-22
- Spencer – TTU 52-10
- Michael – TTU 45-13
