This is essentially going to be an open thread today. I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m leaving private practice as an attorney and it is my last day of real work, although I’ll be working over the weekend as well. To say that things have been hectic would be an understatement.
To summarize the news of yesterday, the formal invitation from the SEC to Texas and Oklahoma was offered after they had asked to be accepted. I believe that Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby said that he promises that UT and OU will be treated fairly for the next 4 years, insinuating that this thing isn’t going away any time soon.
My general thought with Bowlsby attacking ESPN, the driver of television rights for college football and the network that pays colleges to be on television means that there’s a pretty decent chance that ESPN isn’t going to be a television partner and then you wonder who is left to pay. CBS and FOX? You want us?
I might write a bit more tomorrow, but I might also just pass out tomorrow night and sleep for a long while.
