Florida State Guard Sardaar Calhoun to Transfer to Texas Tech

Florida State guard Sardaar Calhoun (6-6/220) has transferred to Texas Tech and will be eligible two years for the Red Raiders.

Calhoun originally played a year at Missouri University West Plains where he was a JUCO All-American, averaging 18.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, and was the #3 JUCO player before arriving in Tallahassee. In his first year at Florida State, Calhoun averaged 5.3 points and 1.4 rebounds while shooting 42% from the field and 40% from the three-point line. Interestingly, Calhoun made 9 of 10 dunks (that’s great), 59% of his close 2-point buckets, 32% of his far away 2-point shots, and the aforementioned 40% from the 3-point line. Calhoun was a positive for his team, having a 2.9 of Box Plus/Minus on a very good Florida State team, playing 35% of available minutes.

If you’ve got 10 minutes, I’ve got 10 minutes of highlights.

Just watching these highlights, he’s got great moves inside and has a terrific floater plus his -three-point shot is just a thing of beauty. I’m guessing that the mid-range game, which really no one wants anyone to take, either take it to the rack or pull up from deep. I’ll take a healthy dose of all this.

And now, it’s time for the eligibility chart, complete with a slight change between the wings, with small wings and big wings since I think there will be a difference. My biggest issue is with Warren, not sure if he’s a big or a small wing, but put him at small for the time being.
