Texas Tech Basketball: Edwards & McClung Enter Transfer Portal

Over the weekend, Texas Tech basketball confirmed that Kyler Edwards would be leaving the program and entered the transfer portal. Mac McClung also declared for the NBA Draft, but also entered the transfer portal meaning that he will likely not return. Right now, Edwards, McClung, and Micah Peavy have entered the portal. Terrence Shannon has also declared for the NBA Draft, but has said he would return to Texas Tech if he choses to to return to school. Given the overall player movement, I thought it best to update my ever important table.

A couple of caveats here. Each year you get 13 scholarships. As mentioned above, McClung is entering the transfer portal as well as entering the draft, so that’s why he has an asterisk. I’d also add that Mark Adams has confirmed that Nadolny, McCullar, Agbo, and Santos-Silva have confirmed they would return. Burton, Smith, and Goldin have not been confirmed.

The bad news is that this is a lot of the team that’s leaving, the good news is that half of college basketball is in the transfer portal so there are options available. If it wasn’t interesting already, it’s going to be interesting real soon.
