It was announced yesterday that because of Covid-19 issues within the TCU program that the Wednesday game against TCU would be postponed for later in the season. In fact, head coach Jamie Dixon announced on Twitter that he tested positive.
Following our team-wide testing, I was notified that I had tested positive for COVID-19. I have begun self-isolation and look forward to continuing our season soon.

And Texas Tech’s upcoming opponent against Iowa State may be in jeopardy as well, the Cyclones having to postpone their games against Kansas State last week and their Saturday game against Texas. I believe that Iowa State announced the Kansas State postponement on January 11th and this Saturday’s game is the 23rd, so it is possible that it could get played if Iowa State has enough players.
In other basketball news, the most recent AP Top 25 Poll was released and Texas Tech sits at 12th overall, up 3 spots from 15th. CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish has his 25 and 1 daily rankings and also had Texas Tech 12th overall.
In non-basketball news, Texas Tech’s baseball team was ranked No. 3 by D1 Baseball, which means that they’ll be a top-5 team heading into the season (no schedule has been announced yet). Perfect Game also has Texas Tech at No. 3 and Collegiate Baseball Newspaper has the Red Raiders at No. 4.
