1. Who is the opponent? The TCU Horned Frogs (2-2, 2-2) have only played 4 games this year, I think they had one that was canceled because of COVID-19 reasons. TCU started off with a win against Texas, 33-31, then dropped a game against Kansas State at home, 14-21, lost to Oklahoma at home, 14-33, and then beat Baylor last week, 33-23.
2. What is the time and date of game? November 7th at 2:30 p.m.
3. How do I watch or stream this game? The game is on FS1 with the game being presumably streamed on FOXSportsGO.
4. What’s the opening line? Via OddsShark, the line opened with TCU favored by 9.5, and has gone to -10 with some books.
5. Scattershooting, while wondering what ever happened to . . . Rod Roddy. Rod Roddy was born Robert Ray Roddy in Fort Worth and attended TCU before doing disc jokey and talk radio things on DFW’s KLIF and KLUV. Get this from the Wikipedia description, ” Returning to KLIF and KNUS during the 1970s, Roddy hosted a call-in program, Rod Roddy’s Hotline, whose controversial host and topics made him a frequent target of death threats. He conducted a long-running on-air feud with an elderly woman (dubbed “Granny Hate” by an earlier host), who claimed to represent the local Ku Klux Klan.” Roddy was a game-show announcer for a good part of his career, but made his name on Price Is Right and was the announcer for that game show and was with Bob Barker for what seemed like 25 or so years. Roddy’s catch-phrase, “Come on down” should be echoing through your brain right now. Roddy worked almost up until his death, two months before his death on October 27, 2003 . . . Gary Patterson is entering his 20th season as the head coach for TCU and Patterson vaulted TCU into the Big 12 as far as I’m concerned . . . Patterson is a defensive whiz, but TCU has slipped a bit and I always thought that Dick Bumpas, the long-time defensive coordinator with Patterson, was really important to Patterson’s success . . . Sonny Cumbie is the offensive coordinator, entering his 7th season and he’s been okay, to disappointing recently . . . former Red Raider defensive coordinator Chad Glasgow has been at TCU for 19 years and other than the dance with Texas Tech and Tuberville that failed with some sort of weird exchange of keys and a cell phone with Hocutt . . . Doug Meacham was famously with Cumbie when the offense was humming what seems like a decade ago. Meachum took a few weird stops and wasn’t very successful . . . Former Oklahoma receiver Malcolm Kelly is the receivers coach and that’s the other name I recognize.
