Remember how I said it was basketball week? Well, I’ve got another post going up today and I’m wearing myself out, but it’s fun looking through the roster and considering the rest of the Big 12. Practice also started for the men and women, maybe last night. I’m not sure. But I’d expect a press conference from the coaches at some point as well this week.

You can buy a brick. This is a special brick and it will be one called “The Walk of Champions” and it will be a walkway connecting the Womble Basketball Center and the United Supermarkets Arena. You can have your phrase, name, or motto engraved from anywhere between $150 (for a 4″ x 8″) to $5,000 (for a 24″ x 24″). If you want said brick by Christmas, you need to order your brick by November 22nd.

ESPN’s Dick Vitale has his top 40 teams in the nation and he’s got Texas Tech checking in at #8:

Chris Beard has rejuvenated his roster by going the transfer route once again. It helped in his Final Four run, and he hopes for a repeat. Marcus Santos-Silva comes in from VCU and has double-double potential. If Mac McClung is eligible, the Georgetown transfer could put up big numbers. Wichita State transfer Jamarius Burton received a waiver, and he is eligible to play right away. UNLV transfer Joel Ntambwe scored in double figures for the Rebels. Veterans Terrence Shannon and Kyler Edwards also return.

NCAA’s Andy Katz talks with head coach Chris Beard and I’m going to try to listen to this tomorrow morning.
