Podcasts. Check out your guys, Spencer and Michael, on 23 Personnel Podcast, a Texas Tech athletics podcast where food and sports clash at the goal line, as well as Keith Patrick and Dinger Derby, the only, yes only, podcast about Texas Tech baseball.

This was a really quiet weekend for Texas Tech athletics, generally speaking. The soccer team was the only team in action, going to a 0-0 tie in double overtime against Baylor. I didn’t get to follow this match, but Texas Tech was out-shot 16 to 12, but was missing a few starters (per LaBarre).

Since there are no sports to really link to, let’s talk NBA Draft. CBS Sports has two different mock drafts, Kyle Boone has Jahmi’us Ramsey going 27 to the Knicks, and Gary Parrish has Ramsey going 25th to the Thunder. The Ringer doesn’t have Ramsey going in the first round. The Ringer’s Big Board has Ramsey at #36 overall. That’s not a huge surprise as I think that Ramsey is sort of on that edge of first or second round prospect. NBA Draft Room thinks that Ramsey goes 22nd to the Nuggets, which would make that team absolutely ridiculous. Sports Illustrated’s Jeremy Woo has Ramsey as the 22nd best player in the draft:

Ramsey’s profile is a little more enigmatic than you’d like after a decent but not wholly convincing season at Texas Tech. But he has solid tools and is an interesting upside play in the late first round. Right now, he settles for too many jumpers and gets to the rim less often than you’d think for a guy with his type of strength. If he reverses that trend and embraces the defensive side of the ball, he has a chance to be a useful rotation player, particularly if his three-point shooting (42% on 141 attempts, but 64% from the free throw line) holds up. Ramsey’s not much of a playmaker either and will have to flesh out his skill set beyond simply scoring to make the most of his NBA opportunity.
