Well.
I’m not sure what to write today. The NBA players decided not to play games yesterday. Players for MLB and MLS chose not to play certain games as well.
If you are offended by these actions then I’m not sure what to tell you other than that’s probably the point. If you are indifferent and tell me that you don’t follow those sports or leagues anyway, I would tell you that it is a matter of time before it hits college sports (see the player-parent movement in the Big Ten). I would tell you that you should go ahead and cross that river now because this movement is on its way and may already be here. Regardless as to where you sit, players want you to address some of these issues including some of our very own Red Raiders, Tony Bradford, Jr. leading the charge here in Lubbock.
Everybody love everybody?
And I get the idea that this is ridiculously difficult. It’s difficult for everyone who genuinely cares about other human beings, which I believe 99% of people do actually care what happens to our fellow humans.
A few weeks ago I did a “Good News Friday” and amazingly, it went really well. Celebrating other people’s successes is significantly more productive than pointing out everyone’s faults. We could probably apply the same thought process here.
Everybody love everybody.
