Dallas Morning News’ Chuck Carlton talked to Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby about how Bowlsby had previously predicted interruptions to a season, but still intends on playing a 12 game season:

“I’m not in the market that I told you so but I think everybody who is playing is going to have disruptions. That doesn’t mean that every team and every university is going to have disruptions.

“I think there will be disruptions and there will likely be games that have to be rescheduled – just exactly what MLB is going through.”

The Big 12 has still taken the hopeful – and perhaps stubborn — approach of trying to play a full 12-game regular season starting on time. Already Oklahoma and Kansas have announced Week 0 games. The Big Ten and Pac-12 have already canceled their non-conference schedule and ACC presidents could decide as early as Wednesday.

I need someone that’s more well-versed in Securities and Exchange Commission things, via CNBC, on July 22nd Under Armour, in addition to Kevin Plank (former CEO and founder) and David Bergman (current CFO) received a Wells notice:

The SEC’s investigation was looking into the timing of Under Armour’s sales, and if the company tried to make them appear stronger than they were. A Wells notice doesn’t necessarily mean the company or the executives violated the law. However, it does indicate the agency is considering an enforcement action.

“The SEC Staff has not alleged any revenue recognition or other violations of generally accepted accounting principles relating to that or any other period,” the company said in the filing.

“The Wells Notices informed the Company and the Executives that the SEC Staff has made a preliminary determination to recommend that the SEC file an enforcement action against the Company and each of the Executives that would allege certain violations of the federal securities laws,” it said.

ESPN’s Sam Kahn is a reporter based in Houston and he had a tweet-thread of Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells’ appearance for the Houston Touchdown Club and here’s a bit about how the team is attempting to stay safe:

When we life we have masks on, there’s one to a rack. When we run, we’re outside so we can pull the masks off and we run, but we’re distanced apart. Here lately, when we’ve been doing all of our walkthroughs, every one of our players they’ve got masks on or the gaiters. The coaches we have masks on or we have a shield, one or the other. And so we’re all doing that, everything in our, in our complex, I believe, you know, from sanitizing, to the way they come in, to the way they leave, to taking the temperature to the questionnaire, everything that we’re doing, retesting. I believe it’s high-end stuff, but certainly there’s variable in there and that’s when they leave the complex.

I think this is the thing we’re finding out, which is that we’re all counting on these players not going out until there’s a vaccine and that’s really tough. And one of the keys will be testing with quicker results and as that improves, I think so will the odds of playing a season.

Via NBC Sports, West Virginia will have a defensive-coordinator-by-committee after firing Vic Koenning, promoting Jeff Casteel to an off-field position (he was one of those advisors previously) and coach outside linebackers and then
