Well, I think that last night was my last night at my parents. Hopefully, at least. Definitely thankful I have a place to stay, but also ready to be back in my own comfort zone. I did work on additional content this weekend, so there will be a post going up around 10.

24/7 Sports Jarrett Johnson spoke with Texas Tech commit Behren Morton after his Elite 11 performance:

What was your favorite event? How did you do in it?

Morton: I would have to say the accuracy challenge. It was a full blown workout and you could see the ones who were in shape and the ones who weren’t. I felt like I was top tier in that.

24/7 Sports’ Charles Power gave superlatives to the Elite 11 Finalists and Texas Tech commit Behren Morton was given “steady hand”:

He might’ve not had the high points of some of the others, but Morton showed well over the course of the week and never appeared to struggle. Coming in as a five-sport athlete from a small school in West-central Texas, you might expect Morton to have an adjustment period to the drills or competition he’d see in this setting. That was anything but the case. Morton showed fluid movement skills, a consistent delivery and above average arm talent relative to the group while turning in good showings in each drill.

USA Today’s Dan Wolken writes about the uncertainty with the Learfield IMG contracts that they have with each institution. Texas Tech has one and if Learfield/IMG starts having issues, that’s a huge problem:

Learfield IMG, according to some of those officials who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the situation, has even raised the prospect of drastic measures like activating force majeure clauses to get out of contracts if schools aren’t willing to renegotiate.

Some schools have agreed to replace their guaranteed distributions from Learfield IMG with a revenue-share arrangement, citing the possibility they would not be able to collect any sponsorship money at all in the near-term if football isn’t played this fall.
