Townsend (6-0/194) is a graduate transfer and will be eligible immediately. Townsend had very few stats last year, rushing 8 times for 22 yards and hasn’t caught a pass in his career for the Crimson Tide. Townsend was originally a 4-star recruit from Tanner, Alabama, displayed tremendous speed and played quarterback in high school.
As we’ve discussed extensively, the running back room is currently 1 scholarship running back, SaRodorick Thompson, with Tahj Brooks on the way and walk-on Xavier White getting a shot there as well. It’s also been thought that incoming freshman Myles Price could get some burn at running back as well.
