Well, we’ve been doing this a month. A full month of me sort of changing things as far as the Morning Stake is concerned. I think it’s been a lot more content, the written word, and much less tweets. I’d tell you that just plugging in the tweets under the name of the sport, it was just so easy. During the football and basketball seasons, I was so busy that I hardly had time to do anything. Well, I had the time to do the bare minimum, so between all of the previews and other posts, it was just too much.

I’ve been trying to take the best or most relevant tweets and put them at the end, while filling the in-between with written things and actual written content. I don’t know if this is better. It is certainly more time consuming, but there is a part of it that I really enjoy doing.

I’m also going to get to some housekeeping things over the weekend and I won’t get to the marble race until tomorrow as well.

Texas Tech announced that they would host a virtual event with all of the big hitter coaches and some country music folks with Texas Tech connections. The event will be on April 30th and you’ll be able to watch on Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube:

During the virtual event, fans will be able to log in to any of Texas Tech’s social media platforms to hear updates from Hocutt as well as head football coach Matt Wells, men’s basketball coach Chris Beard and baseball skipper Tim Tadlock.

“We are excited to engage our fans in a new way,” Hocutt said. “One thing I’ve noticed in this age of social distancing is that our fans still look forward to joining with other Red Raiders and learning more about our athletics programs and our student-athletes. We hope our fans from across the world will find us on social media and join us for a great night.”

In addition to the appearances from many of Texas Tech’s head coaches and staff, the virtual event will feature live musical performances from a trio of Red Raider alums now on the Texas country music circuit in Josh Abbott, William Clark Green and Grant Gilbert.

It almost seems as if Jahmi’us Ramsey is hanging up the Texas Tech jersey and moving on to the next step of his life. Or this could not be it. I’m not all about the drama of this sort of stuff, but I’m guessing that Chris Beard and the rest of the staff know what’s going to happen, so this is my problem because I doubt it is a problem with Beard.

Speaking of Beard, VCU big-man Marcus Santos-Silva (6-8/250) has narrowed his list of potential landing spots, which included Texas Tech. As you probably all know, Purdue big-man Matt Haarms ended up choosing BYU, spurning both Kentucky and Texas Tech. The question is who is up next.

These are some tweets.
