As a junior, Minor had 97 tackles, 3 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery and 4 passes defended. Watching Minor’s video, he’s another really smooth athlete, not necessarily quick, but has really nice top-end speed. I think he’s got really nice footwork while playing those slot receivers, doesn’t seem overwhelmed (it is a highlight video). At safety, Minor has no issue sticking his helmet to stop the run. I’m hoping from his stats, that he’ll be more aggressive getting those turnovers, in particular interceptions. One other thing that is a reality of where we’re at is that Iowa State offered and if they’re offering then he’s probably pretty good as the Cyclones have had an excellent record on defense the last few years.
Please watch Minor’s commitment Tweet complete with video. I would also like to recognize that Minor on that horse at the end of the video is perfect.
RedRaiderSports’ Ben Golan talked with Minor’s trainer (some players hire trainers to help them with their footwork and things like that) so you can check that out.
