InsideTheRedRaider’s Jarrett Johnson (I almost typed Culver when typing Jarrett out of habit) was the first to report the commitment of Fort Bend Marshall offensive lineman Larry Moore. Moore’s Twitter profile says that he’s a 2020 commit and his header photo is him dressed in a Texas Tech football uniform. On Saturday, head coach Matt Wells tweeted out “Wreck’Em x 6” and we knew of four commits, but the 5th and 6th commits were unknown as of Saturday. Well, Moore is the 5th commit so far.
Moore is raw as heck, playing right tackle for most of the highlights, he looks more like one of John Reilly’s basketball players than an offensive lineman at this point of his career, but his frame reminds you of Le’Raven Clark in high school, just a bit ol’ kid that hasn’t filled out and that’s Moore. Athletically, Moore just moves really well in space and his arms have plenty of length, just not a lot of meat on the bone and hasn’t figured out how to punch and drive. He’s got the seal part down and turns his body really well and if you ever wanted to key on what the play is going to do, watch Moore because his body dictates where the play is being run. I think having a mix of guys like Moore and maybe guys that are more physically mature are a good way to build a line, you don’t always want finished products and once Moore puts on some additional muscle, he’s going to be an absolute load.
