Congrats to linebacker Dakota Allen as he was drafted in the 7th round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. Of course it doesn’t hurt that former Red Raider footballer Anthony Lynn is the head coach of the Rams.
ED. I was working all day and just came back to the comments to see that I’m an idiot (I suppose the no name-calling applies to me too and I did not do a smart thing). Anyway, Dakota was actually drafted by the Rams. Lynn is not the head coach. See you guys on Monday.
The official Texas Tech site did it up right, with this video of Allen’s teammates congratulating Allen.
Much love from your Red Raider family 4️⃣0️⃣!
Congrats @dakota_allen40!

In other news, receiver Antoine Wesley was not drafted, but signed as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens, while defensive lineman Preston Gordon signed with the Atlanta Falcons. A lot of you have asked about what kind of advice that Wesley received to come out early and I don’t really have an answer for you. Some folks just don’t want to do the school-thing any longer and some players maybe do not want to be part of a new coaching staff. I’d also say that based on Wesley’s numbers, they were impressive, but they were only impressive for one year and Wesley probably could have used another year to increase his size and quickness, show that he can not only be a vertical threat, but also a over-the-middle guy as well.
What’s done is done and I wish Wesley the absolute best and hope that he catches on with the Ravens. He’ll catch everything thrown his way.

Congrats to Gordon as well. I’d imagine that there might be some more free agent deals as the week progresses.
