Texas Tech Falls to Virginia in National Championship

Your Texas Tech Raiders fell to Virginia 85-77 in the National Championship game. Texas Tech forced overtime in the game, but the Red Raiders could not stop Virginia in the overtime period. The Red Raiders found themselves down in the first half by as much as 10, but battled back in the second half and came up just short to defeat the Cavaliers.

I am infinitely proud of this team and I’ll have more to write about this team in the morning, but they far surpassed any expectations that I had. Not only that, but the fact that head coach Chris Beard and his coaching staff carried this team, along with the players, to just shy of a national title.

Congrats to the Cavaliers on a terrific game.

The Red Raiders came up just short and they can keep their heads held high because they dominated 5 games on their way to play the national championship game.

I’d hate to tell you what to do, but I really do have nothing but love for this team, this staff, the players, the folks in charge of the audio and visual aspect of the program, just every aspect of the team motivated me, inspired me, and made me think that it was possible. It was and we, the royal “we” were right there.

Thank you to you all for being a part of this ride on this blog. Love you all.
