AP Top 25. The updated AP Top 25 was released yesterday and Texas Tech moved up 3 spots to No. 8 overall, which could potentially give Texas Tech a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. As always, if you want to check out how each AP voter voted, you can check out CollegePollTracker, where the highest voter is Geoff Grammer (from the Albuquerque Journal) has Texas Tech at #5 and Scott Richey of the News-Gazette in Champaign, Illinois) has Texas Tech at #13.

Long Decommits. Up until yesterday, Texas Tech had two quarterbacks committed as part of the 2020 class, Wilson Long who committed under Kingsbury and Donovan Smith who committed under head coach Matt Wells and OC David Yost. Yesterday, Wilson Long decommitted via Twitter. When Smith committed, ITRR’s Jarrett Johnson spoke with Long, who said that he had not been able to get in touch with the new staff and I mentioned there (this was not rocket science) that Long would most likely decommit with Smith’s commitment.
