Leading Off
I threatened this a while back and I’m seriously considering this again, which is just no longer posting to the Staking The Plains Facebook page. I know that there are some of you that still use this to get your news, but there are things I very much dislike about Facebook in general, things that I don’t need to get into here. I probably won’t ever delete the page (maybe) but we certainly don’t get the referrals from Facebook like we did in the past. Anyway, I haven’t been motivated to post there, but it hasn’t affected the traffic numbers in any way.

Texas Tech made their debut on the AP Top 25 Poll yesterday at #20 overall. If you’re bored, then you can check out how each AP voter voted via College Poll Tracker. It’s neat and don’t get too caught up in who is voting for who or hassle anyone. I will say that some folks gave a writer named Graham Couch some flack for how he voted for Texas Tech last year and he has the Red Raiders at #13 overall. One other thing is that the NCAA released their first “NET” ratings of the year and I don’t understand a damn thing about them, but for some reason Texas Tech is #3 overall.

Head coach Chris Beard with some music suggestions, including Wu Tang Clan’s Protect the Neck and Adios Amigo by Gary P. Nunn. Beard is also very appreciative of the new coatrack, has a jerky suggestion and assistant coach Brian Burg drinks 7 Dr. Peppers.
