According to multiple media outlets, Texas Tech running back Da’Leon Ward was arrested this afternoon and charged with theft in the amount of $2,500 but less than $30,000, a state jail felony.

Aside from the legal implications, this is a blow to the offense as Ward was expected to be the starter going into the first game with Tre King seeing back-up opportunities. Now, that appears to have changed and you’ll likely see King get the start on September 1st against Ole Miss.
