Leading Off
This is really pretty interesting. Texas Tech has extended their contract with Ramar Communications for the next nine years and Ramar will have the Kirby Hocutt Show that will be one hour each Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. each week (TexasTech):
“We value Ramar Communications’ continued focus and coverage on Texas Tech Athletics,” said Hocutt. “It is unique in today’s media environment to have such strong, locally owned stations. I’m excited to be able to further strengthen direct communication with our fans by debuting this new weekly show.”
That will be must-listen radio depending on how the season plays out this year, but Hocutt, like most good AD’s, is pretty good about not saying anything if the situation warrants it. Hocutt will never throw one of his coaches under the bus or say anything derogatory.

Texas Tech Basketball
It was officially announced that Texas Tech will play Duke at Madison Square Garden on December 20th with tickets going on sale in early October (TexasTech). I’m guessing a handful of Red Raiders will bein the Big Apple for Christmas.
NCAA’s Joe Boozell has 64 predictions for next year including this prediction for Texas Tech:
Keenan Evans, Zhaire Smith and others are gone, so it makes sense that Texas Tech is mostly off the national radar. But Chris Beard is a difference-making coach. The Red Raiders will find their way.
Texas Tech Football
