Texas Tech linebacker Dakota Allen was named to the Bronko Nagurski Trophy watch list (TexasTech). I think there were something like 100 players on the watch list.
The football team was at the Ronald McDonald’s House yesterday and here are some photos as well as some video with the team’s visit to the Carillon last week:

Houston head coach Major Applewhite said that they would be using defensive tackle Ed Oliver on offense (RedditCFB on Twitter):
On Ed Oliver and his Heisman hopes, Houston HC Major Applewhite said that he will definitely be part of the offense: will run the ball, might catch, pass, and kick the ball. Applewhite says that you “want to get the ball in your best player’s hands.”
The commentary for a lot of folks is that this increases his Heisman profile with the other side thinking that this puts Oliver at more risk for an injury.
Saturday Blitz’s Patrick Mayhorn has a season preview of Texas Tech with the final prediction of 7-5, which is probably one of the more optimistic predictions that I’ve seen.
