Briefly
Absolutely incredible that a school record six players from the softball team have been named on the 2018 All-Big 12 Softball Team (official site):
Junior Jessica Hartwell headlined the group with a first team selection while redshirt sophomore Karli Hamilton received a second-team nod. Redshirt freshmen Heaven Burton and Michaela Cochran along with true freshmen Erin Edmoundson and Kelcy Leach were named to the All-Freshman Team.
The ladies golf team finished 13th in the NCAA Austin Regional and mami Yamamoto finished -1 under for the day for the ladies (official site).
There were a whopping 17 male and 21 female student athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 first and second teams (official site).
Texas Tech Baseball
D1Baseball has their stock report and Texas Tech is out as far as their projections and being a top 8 team, which makes sense. This team is in a bit of a bad spot, but to still be considered for a national spot is still pretty terrific.
Texas Tech Basketball
How about some Zhaire Smith highlights for breakfast.
Congrats on your invite to the @NBA Combine, @zhaire_smith!
We’ll miss seeing plays like this in Lubbock, but we look forward to seeing them at the next level! #WreckEm #4To1 pic.twitter.com/KjFYElVKM0

“It was tough,” he said. “Everybody wants to enjoy their senior year and do everything that comes with senior year. I just feel like this was the best decision for me to make.”
