NCAA Tournament Hero. CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander writes about 16 players that could be heroes during the NCAA Tournament, including Keenan Evans:
This season has been unusual in that a lot of teams are competing for Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 seeds that aren’t there in most years. Texas Tech is one of those teams. A big reason for that is Evans, who’s had a season that essentially can match Trae Young and Devonte’ Graham in the Big 12. But you haven’t heard a lot about Evans, even though he’s averaging 17.2 points, 3.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 steals on 57-percent shooting from 2-point range. Now, Evans is battling a bad toe, but if he’s in full form for the NCAAs? Then he’s good enough to go off and get the Red Raiders to somewhere they’ve never been: the Elite Eight.

Coutee Preview. Inside the Pylon’s Joseph Ferraiola previews wide receivers for the NFL Combine and includes Keke Coutee:
KeKe Coutee, Texas Tech
Thereβs already a growing hive surrounding the Texas Tech slot receiver and it should continue to grow after this week. Coutee is limited in stature, listed at 5β10β, 180 pounds, but he has rare athletic ability. Heβs going to test well in all the drills this week. I was initially blown away by his burst and ability to accelerate from the pack when studying his tape. His stop and start speed is also noteworthy as he can quickly change direction to elusively make defenders miss. Official measurements will be big for Coutee to see what kind of size and frame he actually possesses.
Matthews’ Visit. RedRaiderSports’ Matt Clare talks with Frisco Reedy tight end Nolan Matthews, who visited this past weekend, but no offer was extended:
Matthews currently holds two (2) offers from Texas State and Howard with several other programs showing interest.
“Coach Jones did talk about a potential offer with me, but he wants to come back down to see me during spring practices and go from there,” Matthews said. “It is pretty similar to what a lot of programs want to do, in terms of evaluating me in person this spring. But we did talk about scheduling another visit to Lubbock this spring for a practice and I’m definitely going to attend the scrimmage in Frisco.”
