Power Rankings. SI’s Molly Geary has their power rankings and has Texas Tech 8th overall:
By virtue of Kansas’s weekend loss to Oklahoma State, the Red Raiders were given new life in the Big 12 race in terms of controlling their own fate. They and the Jayhawks are now tied for first at 7–3, with the Raiders (for now) holding a head-to-head edge. In their recent win over TCU, freshman Jarrett Culver had the best outing of his young career, posting an absurd 205 offensive rating and scoring 20 points with four assists, three blocks and no turnovers while hitting 4 of 5 threes. When Culver’s three-point shot is falling, he can be a really valuable offensive asset that helps take some of the pressure off Keenan Evans.

Combine Invites. Congrats to Keke Coutee, Dylan Cantrell, and Nic Shimonek for being invited to the NFL Combine. This makes the third straight year that Texas Tech has had someone invited to the Combine and probably an indication that you have some good players. The 2015 NFL Combine, Texas Tech was shut out, but in 2016 DeAndre Washington, Le’Raven Clark, and Branden Jackson were all in attendance while 2016 had Patrick Mahomes. I’d guess that the 2019 will have a few as well, especially on defense.
Congrats and good luck to our 3️⃣ Red Raiders who have earned invites to the @NFL Combine!

Douglas Will Sign With JUCO. Via Denton Record Chronicle’s Steve Gamel writes that long-time Texas Tech commit Gabriel Douglas will sign with Jones County Junior College. This has been known by lots of folks, Gabriel was supremely talented, and never offered by anyone else. In other words, everyone sorta knew that he wasn’t going to be a part of this class.
